Hello, dreamers. It’s been a while.
I feel I should apologize for my protracted silence. I’ve had a lot going on recently: a lot of life changes, all (thus far) for the better. However, these changes have been commanding a great deal of my attention. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been slowly easing myself back into writing, but it’s a gradual process.
For reasons that elude me, I’ve long found that the first two months of the year tend to be the slow time for my writing. I have a hard time getting back into the groove after the holidays. And it was partly this that led me, several years ago, to start making March my personal Short Fiction Month.
For those who are newer to my website, for the last few years I’ve devoted the entire month of March to short fiction. I suspend work (mostly) on any current novel projects, and instead spend my time on short subjects. And, in order to spur my creativity, I post a new short story every week for the entire month.
So, from now until the end of the month, my usual Short Story Saturday posts will be replaced with an update on Short Fiction Month. I hope you enjoy this month of short fiction as much as I will. Read on, comment, and dare to dream. – MK
